Loving yourself is very important during life. It determines how you see yourself in the mirror and how much appreciation you give to yourself.

 

The notion "self-esteem" refers to the image you have of yourself as a person and the degree to which you value yourself. How we value ourselves, whether positive or negative, reflects the way we think feel and act. When you have a positive mindset, you will think in a positive way and be more pleasant in life. Compliments such as 'you have beautiful eyes', 'you look so good today' you will accept easily. When you link a negative value to yourself, you will experience more stress, be more depressed, be more lonely, have more difficult relationships,.... In other words, self-esteem is an important predictor of various results such as happiness, academic achievement, criminal behavior and satisfaction in marriage or relationships. 

 

To strengthen preventively the self-esteem of children I use a very approachable form of dance therapy named "dance-esteem".
